Kjellson & Wik (K&W) is a Swedish independent arthouse production company founded in 2013 by producer Marie Kjellson and director Katja Wik. Looking for long-term collaborations with writers and filmmakers, our goal is to produce contemporary films with an artistic outlook aiming to reflect on society whilst being deeply entertaining. We have a strong focus on talent development and aim to establish new and diverse voices on an international market. We believe that films hold a cultural value that shapes our society - thus equality and diversity within filmmaking are core values in our company.
Marie Kjellson is a Swedish producer with a strong track record in European arthouse cinema, known for collaborating with distinctive voices such as Ruben Östlund, Katja Wik, and Fanny Ovesen. She has over a decade of experience producing both short and feature-length films that have been recognized at major international film festivals.
Her recent work includes the feature Live A Little by Fanny Ovesen, which won the Angelos Award for Best Swedish Feature Film at the Göteborg Film Festival 2025 and received double awards at the Biarritz Film Festival – Nouvelles Vagues. Other notable productions include Force Majeure by Ruben Östlund (Prix du Jury, Un Certain Regard, Cannes), Incident by a Bank (Golden Bear, Berlinale Shorts), The Ex-Wife by Katja Wik (New Directors Competition, São Paulo), and Victim-Mentality Rhetoric (Audience Award, Startsladden, Göteborg Film Festival).
She also produced the short film The Committee, directed by Gunhild Enger & Jenni Toivoniemi, which premiered in competition at the Locarno Film Festival and received several international awards.
Marie is an EAVE graduate (2012) and has participated in Producer on the Move (2020), ACE Producers (2022), and most recently, was selected for the ACE Leadership Special program in 2025.
Director Katja Wik, born in 1987, holds a Master’s degree in Film from HDK-Valand at the University of Gothenburg, and completed screenwriting studies at the Alma Screenwriting Academy in 2022.
She made her directorial and screenwriting debut in 2012 with the short film Offerrollsretorik (Victim-Mentality Rhetoric), which won the Audience Award in the Startsladden competition at the Göteborg Film Festival. In 2017, she made her feature film debut with The Ex-Wife, which received both national and international recognition.
Furthermore, Katja has an extensive experience as a casting director. She has cast several of Ruben Östlund’s feature films, including Involuntary, Play and Force Majeure, as well as Anna Odell’s X&Y and multiple films by Roy Andersson.
She is co-founder and co-owner of Kjellson & Wik, which she runs together with producer Marie Kjellson.
